Subscriptions

Payment Methods

How can I pay for a subscription?
We accept all major credit cards for individual students and bank transfers for our corporate clients. Unfortunately we can’t accept paypal payments at this time.

Double verification
Please note that to make sure all electronic payments are even more secure we are now required to follow new rules called SCA Strong Customer Authentication. This means we must have double verification for any payment. This means using a second authentication factor, most commonly, a once only passcode sent to your mobile phone.

Can I subscribe for 1 month only?

Yes. You can subscribe for one month only, but you must remember to cancel your subscription before the end of the end of the month* if you do not want to continue after that month.
(*A month is 30 calendar days from when you paid your subscription fee)

Will my subscription renew automatically?

Yes. All subscriptions plans automatically renew (at the end of the month or the year) unless you cancel your subscription (see ‘How do I cancel my subscription’).

If I stop my subscription, can I come back and continue my studies at a later date?

Yes. If you cancel your subscription, your account is not deleted (Unless you chose to delete your account). You will have still access to the features in your plan for the paid period.

After that, you will have your learning history and progress on your dashboard. You will still have access to lessons from courses marked with ‘Preview Available’.

Subscribe again and continue your studies at the stage where you finished.

Can I upgrade my Plan to Student or Student to Pro?

Yes. At any time. Simply go to your dashboard and click on Upgrade Subscription (if you are accessing the previews) or Change Subscription (if you already are in the Student or Pro Plan)

If I upgrade from the Student to the Pro Plan before the end of the month will I lose the money I paid ?

No. Any subscription time you have remaining on your plan will automatically be discounted pro rata off the cost of the payment for the new plan.

For example. If you subscribe to the Student Plan ($10 per month) and halfway through the month you decide to upgrade to the Pro Plan ($30 per month), your first monthly payment for the new Pro Plan will be $30 – $5 (for the half month of the Student Plan you didn’t use), so you will only pay $25 for the first month.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Simply go to your dashboard.

My Account/Subscriptions.

Click the ‘Cancel’ button.

Can I cancel my subscription at any time?

Yes. You can cancel at any time. Your subscription will finish at the end of the billing period so you will still have access to your subscription plan for the period you have paid for.

For example, if you have a monthly subscription which runs from 10th March, and you cancel on the 20th  March, your subscription will end on the 10th April (end of the billing period) so you will have access to all your courses until the 10th April,  but you will not be charged again on the 10th April.

Your learning history will be saved on your dashboard. You will still have access to lessons from courses marked with ‘Preview Available’.

Certificates

Can I get an IELTS or Cambridge Examination Certificate from Perfectly Spoken?

Unfortunately neither we nor any online provider of courses can provide officially recognised certificates at the moment. The reason for this is simple: security. So, at the moment, a student must go to a physical centre (and there are thousands around the world) where they can take the exams under close supervision.

It is certainly our plan to become a recognised Preparation Centre for Cambridge and other organisations and already our lessons are used by many students to help them prepare for official exams.

Can I get a certificate of completion?

Student and Pro Plan subscribers will receive an official Perfectly Spoken Certificate of Course Completion when they complete a final Course Assessment, and they have a pass rate of 70% or more.

This Certificate will show the final result (%) of the last Course Assessment taken.

What is the 'Course Assessment'?

This is a final course test that will enable Student and Pro Plan subscribers to receive an official Perfectly Spoken Certificate of Course Completion when they take it, and they achieve a pass rate of 70% or more.

We recommend you practise for this end of course test by taking all the lesson tests and studying the extra materials.

You can take this test as many times as you like. When you are happy with the results, go to the Certificate section in your menu and download it in pdf format.

This Certificate will show the  final result (%) of the last Course Assessment taken.

Downloads & content use

Can I download the videos?

No, they are streamed only. Please note the lessons and all associated materials are © Perfectly Spoken.

Can I have downloadable materials?

Student and Pro Plan Subscribers can download any extra materials that are attached to the lessons as PDFs.

If you don’t have a subscription, you will be able to download materials in lessons from courses marked with ‘Preview Available’.

Good question. Students can learn and improve their English in different ways because our system is so flexible.

Top Tips

How to make the most of Perfectly Spoken

Advice from students and teachers

Take the level test.

This test is available to all users registered with our learning platform and takes just 10 minutes

This will give you a good idea of  your level and recommend which course you should start with.

However the choice is yours. Please feel free to decide what level/course best suits you.

Focus

You can learn on your mobile on your laptop but like most things that are good for you.
You need to make sure you can focus on the lesson and not have too many distractions; so try to find somewhere quiet where you can concentrate

Watch and watch again

As with many things, the second (or even third) time of us doing something, that thing becomes easier to understand –easier to do! So watch and watch the lesson again, pause and think about the content.

Test yourself

Your teacher will often ask you questions during the lesson so stop the video, think about the answer and even write it down and then continue the recording.

If you get something wrong, go back and watch again and test yourself again.

Finally, when you are ready to do the lesson test, think very carefully about your answers. You can take the tests again but the first time you do it is the most important one. (Please note tests are available as part of the Student and Pro Plans)

Establish a routine

On average, we suggest taking 2 lessons a week for you at your level, but remember you need to make sure you understand everything and do the lesson test before you move on to the next lesson.

Live practice with our teachers

We offer a number of live and interactive activities available to different subscription Plans.

  • Masterclasses (Student & Pro Plan Subscription)
  • Open classes (Student & Pro Plan Subscription)
  • Speaking Practice Groups (Pro Plan Subscription)
  • Tutored Writing Club (Pro Plan Subscription)

We also offer regular live practice sessions on Facebook and Instagram. More information about Free Resources

Experiment

Although you can start more than 1 course at a time, we recommend you start and follow one at a time.

It’s a good idea to watch each lesson in order in the course to make good progress. But, remember you can change courses at any time if the course is too easy or too difficult

And of course you can watch ANY lesson of at any level… so experiment!

Ask Us

Come along to our live & interactive practice sessions with our teachers. That’s the time to ask and clarify your doubts.

  • Masterclasses – with final Q&A  (Student & Pro Plan Subscription)
  • Open classes – interact with chat or voice/video. Your choice (Student & Pro Plan Subscription)
  • Speaking Practice Groups at your level – get immediate teacher feedback (Pro Plan Subscription)
  • Tutored Writing Club – get feedback on our weekly challenges at your level (Pro Plan Subscription)
